Tickets for people without an account
Some attendees bring people who won’t have an account: a child, or a friend who’d rather not sign up. You can let them hold tickets for those people. We call them managed participants, and the person who adds them is their responsible participant.
A managed participant is a real attendee: their own ticket, their own session seats, their own check-in. They can’t host sessions.
Allow it on a ticket type
Section titled “Allow it on a ticket type”It’s off by default. Turn it on only for the types where it makes sense, like “Kids under 12”.
- Open the event, select Edit event and go to Pricing Configuration.
- On the type, tick Holder can assign this ticket to someone without an account.
- Select Update Event.
Like days admitted, the setting is fixed on each ticket when it’s sold. Changing it affects tickets sold from then on.
What attendees do
Section titled “What attendees do”The buyer opens the ticket, selects Assign, and enters the person’s name. They then sign that person up for sessions and get every email about them. See Tickets for people without an account in the attendee guide.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”- Tickets: the attendee’s name, with Responsible: and the responsible participant’s name under it.
- Ticket page: the Account shows Managed.
- Check-in and session rosters: the same Responsible: line.
At the door, check them in on their own ticket, like anyone else.
