One-off vs ongoing events
Every event is the same kind of thing: a start, an end and the sessions in between. What changes is how long that window is.
One-off events
Section titled “One-off events”A convention, a game day, a weekend. The window is short and every day is busy.
- Sell a full-event ticket, and day tickets if people come for one day only.
- Open enrollment in steps so everyone gets a fair chance at popular tables. See Enrollment phases.
Ongoing events
Section titled “Ongoing events”A weekly club night, a monthly meetup, a campaign season. Run it as one event with a long window, up to a year, with sessions only on the days you meet.
- Sell a day ticket for each night, a season pass that admits every day, or both. See Day tickets.
- Leave enrollment Open for the whole season.
- In the schedule builder, events longer than a week show only the days that have sessions, and open on the first of them.
There’s no separate “recurring event” setting. A long window is all it takes.
