About this session
Yesterday was your finest hour in a long, long time.
After weeks of hunger, sweat, storms, and bad luck, your crew unearthed thirteen heavy chests from a forgotten ruin on a cursed island. The first two cracked open to reveal mountains of gold, silver, and jewels. With pirate hunters closing in, nobody bothered checking the rest. You hauled them aboard and made for open sea.
That night the rum flowed like the tide. Shanties shook the masts. Feet danced, some fists flew, dice rolled, you swear that someone definitely kissed the captain, and every soul aboard swore they’d live forever.
Today you wake in the sweltering heat of the late afternoon with a skull fit to burst, a mouth full of regret, and only scattered scraps of memory. You’re caked in something warm, sticky, and foul. At first you reckon it’s your own vomit but „Avast, matey!“ It isn’t. It’s blood.
Your ship drifts beneath a dying sun. Your crew has been butchered. Something aboard is obviously terribly, terribly wrong.
Will you handful of lost souls be able to figure out what transpired? And more importantly will you be able to survive?
Sunset is three hours away. What do you do?
This oneshot was designed by me for the Pirate Borg system repurposing some standard Pirate Borg Material. Please expect some kind of a Pirate themed quirky horror escape room type of game including investigation, riddles, hopefully suspense, maybe some fighting, gorey violence and a lot of pirate stereotypes.
In accordance with the AI Guidelines of Bircon I will say that AI was used to a minimal extent to alter the cover image and to refine my own texts. All ideas for the story a genuinely my own apart from the rich public pirate trivia I am drawing from.
