Escape From Dino Island

Players take on the role of brave, competent, but fundamentally normal people in way over their heads. The game helps you create action-packed stories that are full of suspense, but in which fighting is rarely a good option. The aim of the characters is to escape the island alive. The aim of players is to see their characters participate in the dramatic movie-like scenes and learn more about them through flashbacks.

The tone is a present day Holywood block-buster with sci-fi elements, not taking itself that seriously, and only very loosely grounded in science. Among themes we could find dinosaurs, genetical engineering, cloning, tropical islands, corporate greed, alternative universes, time travel, preservation of nature, secret laboratories, natural disasters, violence (dinosaurs vs people, but also people vs people). We'll stay away from heavy topics. Good touchstone is Jurrasic Park, but also Doctor Who, LOST, Westworld, King Kong, Half Life.

Escape from Dino Island is a "Powered By The Apocalypse" game. No knowledge of the system is needed to play, everything we'll be explained as we go. Each player will select one of the playbooks (Doctor, Engineer, Hunter, Kid, Palaeontologist, Soldier, Survivor, and Smuggler) and fill in few details of their character at the beginning of the session, their details and backstory will come up through the play.

All materials necessary are going to be provided by myself, but you can, if you wish, take couple (2-3) of six sided dice, pencil, eraser and a toy (or picture) of your favourite dinosaur.
